      ASCII Art

      ASCII art is a means of creating pictures from text characters. It is frequently used in e-mail and Usenet postings, since it is much easier to transmit than image formats such as JPEG or GIF, and many users find it difficult to translate an enclosure into a viewable image. ASCII art, on the other hand, may be viewed by any newreader.
